Love liberates | Maya Angelou

“Love liberates, it doesn’t just hold-that’s ego.”

What is love? Love is considered to be one of the most powerful emotion of them all. That is because love is liberating, it has the ability to heal and transform people from emotional bondage. It puts up with all things, trust in all things, hopes for all things, and endures all things. Love is pure, love is soft, love is kind.

In the bible it states that “Love is patience, love is kind. It isn’t jealous, it doesn’t brag, and it is not arrogant. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.”

(1 Corinthians 13:4-5)

Love doesn’t hurt, you should never have to battle the one you say you love. Holding onto anger, or being clingy is not a sense of love. That is what you call conditional love, it’s when you love someone with conditions. When you truly love someone UNCONDITIONALLY; you are setting them free.

If someone says or does something mean to you, instantly your feelings get hurt and you want to retaliate. They have to feel the same hurt feelings you felt, when they did something wrong to you. That my dear, is what you call “being immature". It’s a mentality that majority of people adapted in our adult lives, and is now being implemented into our relationship.

See, if you truly love someone, then it would be easier for you to understand that as humans we are guaranteed to make mistakes. Learn to let go, and let God. That is why Dr. Maya Angelou, who is a phenomenal Queen, reminds us in the video below that love can be liberating. Arrogant: Someone who is full of self-worth or self-importance and who tells and shows that they have a feeling of superiority over others
